Midlothian Digital Twin

An immersive tour of Vistra's Midlothian combined-cycle power plant. Almost nobody gets to walk into the gas turbine room — the heart of the whole plant — so we brought it into VR, where students, employees, and stakeholders can experience it firsthand, safely.

To build something this accurate we used photogrammetry: hundreds of photos of the real equipment, stitched together into a super detailed 3D model. The enclosures are fully modeled, animated, and functional — down to systems like the lube oil system.

And it isn't a demo on a shelf. Plant managers, directors, and leaders at Vistra use it for internal training, stakeholder engagement, and career-fair buzz.
